• The movie’s release coincided with the 50th anniversary of Yash Chopra’s career in Bollywood.


• The first song of the film was completed in December 2011. In February 2012, A.R. Rahman told in an interview that he had completed three songs.


• Initially, the film shooting was supposed to get started in November 2011. However, it was postponed to January 2012 since Shah Rukh Khan decided to take a break with his family after the release of the films Ra.One and Don 2. Filming began on 9 January 2012.


• This movie marks the return of Yash Chopra as a director after a gap of 8 years, his last film being Veer-Zaara.


• During filming, there were rumours that the film was a remake of Yash Chopra’s film Daag: A Poem of Love. However, these rumours were refuted by Yash Raj Films.


• Shooting locations included Mumbai, London, and Bangkok on a 35-day shooting schedule that began on February 22, 2012.


• This was Yash Chopra’s 22nd and final movie. He completed it just before he died on October 21, 2012, at the age of 80 as a result of dengue fever.


• “Jab Tak Hai Jaan,” the poem that Shah Rukh Khan recites during the teaser and that was added to the official soundtrack album of the movie, was written by Aditya Chopra, who, following his father’s footsteps, directed romantic classics such as Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Mohabbatein, and Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi.


• The romantic scenes of the film were directed by Yash Chopra’s son Aditya Chopra to give the romance a more contemporary feel.


• The climax of the film was initially planned by Yash Chopra to be shot in Kashmir. But instead the climax was shot in Ladakh, on the suggestion of Shah Rukh Khan.

Goofs: Continuity: Aafter a leap of 10 years, Shahrukh looks different with a beard but Katrina looks the same. Meanwhile, Katrina and Anushka look the same age but there is an gap of 10 years between them.
